Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 August 2026. This policy covers walkmark.app (the website) and the open source Walkmark desktop app. Use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Service.
Website (walkmark.app)
Waitlist
If you join the Walkmark Cloud waitlist, we store your email address in a PostgreSQL database operated by us. We use it only to contact you about Walkmark Cloud and related product updates. You can ask us to delete your entry at hello@walkmark.app.
Cookies and analytics
We use an essential cookie to remember your cookie choice and, only with your consent, optional analytics cookies to measure traffic. See our Cookie policy for the full list and how to opt out. Change your choice anytime with Cookie settings in the footer.
We do not sell personal information. For California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Hosting logs
Our hosting provider may log IP addresses, user agents, and request paths for security and reliability. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used for advertising.
Desktop app (open source)
Walkmark is built to keep capture and storage on your machine by default. Recording, editing, and export do not require a Walkmark account or our servers.

When data leaves your machine
Data is sent only when you run Write with a cloud-connected or remote model: local Ollama stays on your machine; BYOK providers receive screenshots and prompts; Walkmark Cloud (when available) will operate under separate terms.
We never receive or store your provider API keys. The open source app does not include analytics or crash reporting today.

Your rights
Depending on where you live (EU/UK GDPR, California CPRA, and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold about you (mainly waitlist emails and support mail). Contact hello@walkmark.app.

Teams with SSO, audit logs, or on-prem requirements can contact us.
